Florence is a multi-disciplinary life explorer who grew up in France, migrated to New York City and has made Kingston, NY her home.
Moving For Life Certified Instructor (2015), BodyMind Dancing Certified Teacher (2016). Florence is currently a student of Body-Mind Centering.
Florence dances Butoh since 2004 and now leads community practices. She has received grants from NYC Cultural Affairs, Staten Island Council for the Arts and New York State to share and offer works to the public. She has collaborated with the Stapleton Senior Center SINY, Staten Island Science Museum SINY, Tibetan Museum SINY, Alice Austen Photography Museum SINY, and other Creative groups such as Staten Island OutLoud & Living Through Movement. Florence studied Classical Music with piano and bassoon in France and collaborates with musicians to offer live and recorded soundtracks.
Florence builds installations and makes costumes to support the performance process and space. She also makes photographs to study movement and the subtle manifestations of life and its representations. Florence has a Masters in Cinema Studies from the City University of New York and worked as Broadcast Producer in Advertising, Documentary and Independent Films as well as Assistant Editor in syndicated Television programs.
